FRANCO SALERNO
FRANCO SALERNO
Argentina, Buenos Aires
He was born November 20, 1993 in Trenque Lauquen, Buenos Aires.
From a very young age he had contact with the artisanal task since he started out at the “Pichi Ballón” saddler, run by his stepfather, who started teaching him the rudiments of the craft. From the start, he paid special attention to the knives. He began fixing and designing some hilts in the family saddler until he then bought his first blades and making his own hilts with deer antlers and alpaca.
He sold his first pieces in his own town door to door. Given the acceptance his products had, he continued to improve his craft with his teachers and friends, Jorge Sorrentino y Marcelo Bailón.
In spite of his youth, he has become a specialist in crafting the hilts for verijero knives and barbecue sets.
